Abstract

Poli­tis­che Funk­tion­al­itäten von mit­te­lal­ter­lichen und neuzeitlichen Stadträu­men aus ver­schiede­nen diszi­plinären Per­spek­tiv­en und im europäis­chen Raum ste­hen im Zen­trum des vor­liegen­den Ban­des. Ein­er­seits behan­deln die rund 20 Beiträge konkrete Räum­lichkeit­en wie das Rathaus und Orte der Verge­sellschaf­tung, zum anderen wer­den vor dem Hin­ter­grund der Europäis­chen Städteat­lanten ver­schiedene Stadt­typen und die Funk­tion­al­isierung von Stadträu­men deut­lich gemacht: Fes­tungsstädte, Hafen­städte, Indus­tri­estädte, Kloster­städte und Residenzstädte.
