Priv.-Doz. Dr. Tanja Rindler-Daller
Theoretical Physicist and Astronomer
University of Vienna

I am a physicist and astronomer (see CV below). My main research interest is Cosmology, the science of the Universe as a whole. Cosmology has developed into a huge interdisciplinary scientific field. My own focus has been on the dark matter problem. As a theoretician, I am concerned with model building, calculations and programming, and foremostly - thinking. I am interested in pursuing new ideas, especially if the physical principles behind are promising in advancing our overall understanding of the world. In the end, however, Nature will be the final arbiter in this never-ending endevour.

I do research and I teach at the Department of Astrophysics, located in the beautiful University Observatory of the University of Vienna. Currently, I'm holding an Elise-Richter fellowship, which is funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF. During this 4-year project (1.9.2018-31.8.2022) entitled ''Cosmology and Structure Formation of Scalarfield Dark Matter'' I am continuing my studies of scalar field dark matter (SFDM), a promising candidate for the dark matter in the Universe.
