Arctic Tipping Points
The Exhibition in the UBB Foyer explains the ecosystem tipping cascade caused by the melting of the Arctic Sea Ice and the Greenland Ice sheet. It invites you to explore a world of change happening beneath the waves of our Arctic seas, and how our natural environment and human societies are adapting in response.
Earth view from ISS
The live video of Earth is streaming from an external HD camera mounted on the ISS. The camera is looking toward Earth with an occasional solar panel passing through the view. This is an official NASA stream.
BASS Meeting in Kiel
Dima presented his data on the annual meeting of the BASS project held in Kiel, Germany on January 22 – 25.
BASS Cruise German Bight
Between 19 July and 10 August Dima was on a cruise with the research vessel Heincke in the German bight. Sampling with “Halobates”, the surface microlayer sampling catamaran, was daily routine as were storms and choppy seas.
SML Mesocosm Ongoing
For three weeks now Dima is chasing a phytoplankton bloom in the BASS mesocosm study at the SURF facilities of the ICBM in Wilhelmshaven (Germany).
