The Austrian-Ethiopian Society is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with the purpose of :

  1. Constructive interaction and networking between Austrian and Ethiopian citizens, their institutions and companies.
  2. Exchange of knowledge, technologies and cultural achievements between Austrians and Ethiopians.
  3. Project development in cooperation of Austrians and Ethiopians, their institutions and companies.
  4. Fund mobilization for development cooperation projects.

Desta Alemu
Desta Alemu (PhD) has been living and working in Vienna for over 30 years. He is a staff member in the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Vienna, Faculty of Life Sciences. His lectures are based on Cultural Anthropology and History of Ethiopia. He is a scientific researcher and translator in the Amharic, English and German languages for different faculties at the University of Vienna and other institutions.
