About me

Hi! 🙂 My name is Fabián Levicán. I’m a praedoc University assistant and doctoral student in mathematics at the University of Vienna, working under the joint supervision of Balázs Szendrői and Ilse Fischer. My current interests lie in the intersection between algebraic geometry and combinatorics. More specifically, I’m working on enumerative problems.

For my bachelor’s thesis, which was supervised by Pedro Montero (UTFSM, Valparaíso, Chile), I used computational methods to determine existence and uniqueness of additive actions on smooth Fano toric varieties. Then, for my master’s thesis, which was supervised by Sebastián Herrero (USACH, Valparaíso, Chile) and Pedro Montero, I took a detour into number theory and studied potential density of rational points on elliptic K3 surfaces.
