kristallisiert.
Summary:
The fundamental concern of the
Confucian philosophical undertaking was to understand man through the
following questions: What is a man? How does one become a man? And why
schould one strive for the highest good to fulfill the meaning of man?
The characteristics of the Confucians'answer were based on their
assertion of the unity of what is, with what should be, the innate
goodness in human nature, the dignity of man, and the primacy of
harmonious balance in a twofold nature of world development. This view
is unique because they see cognition as a process of harmonization of
subject and object through the creativity of man, the unifier.
Confucians focus on filial piety as the vehicle for actualizing
Ren-reciprocal altruism which derives from the ontological assumption
of a dialectical monist world outlook crystalized in Yin-Yang symbolic
relationship.
