Sometimes you submit papers, panels, applications etc. and you meet with refusal. That is what happened to the panel I submitted to the European Social Science History Conference (ESSHC). But then, there are times when you succeed, as in the case of a little project that I created together with Karl Megner (the living legend), Peter Becker and Thomas Stockinger. It is about the transformation of the Austrian federal and Viennese municipal administration and will be funded by the Jubiläumsfonds of the City of Vienna for the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Here you can find a short description of the project.

To conclude, here is another saying: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade: the rejected ESSHC-panel will make for the basis of a lovely workshop in Vienna next year.
