Short Biography

Hi!

My name is Michael Walch. I am a dedicated engineer, scientist and lecturer who gained experience in the private sector in parallel to a university career at the University of Vienna and the Technical University of Vienna. My master’s degree has been completed on the topic of artificial recognition systems.

I have worked as engineer and technical consultant for the medical sector, the timber and wood industry, the banking and trading sector, and for government institutions. My research interests include cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence, knowledge-based conceptual and meta modelling, and the relation and structure of ontological and epistemological models. For high school, bachelor and master level teaching and lecturing activities, I can draw on a rich didactic background.

I live in Vienna, Austria. My current most significant project is to finish my PhD – which I did in 2019 – at the University of Vienna’s Faculty of Computer Science in the Research Group for Knowledge Engineering, where I apply knowledge representation schemes, artificial intelligence, and semantic services in the OMiRob Project, to fuse conceptual modelling and cyber-physical systems in a newly built physical and virtual laboratory.
