Space science activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA.

As a consultant/visiting staff member at SST(Space Science and Technology)-Division of LANL I was involved in the following projects:

- consultation in the construction of an instrument to be flown on a satellite

- improvement of a neutron-gamma-discriminator needed for an SDI application

- experiments to collect proton-gamma data at 800 MeV for a data base to be used for the prospecting to be done with the ill-fated Mars-Observer Mission

- experimental simulation of the neutron leakage from the Martian surface to detect water on Mars. In this experiment, for which I used my sabbatical leave of absence at the University of Vienna, I was the main experimenter and the responsible evaluator.
