u:flashcards App - FAQ

Your question is not covered yet? Please write to flashcards.ctl@univie.ac.at.

You can use your University of Vienna u:account. You will also use this account to login to the Moodle instance. For example, your username will be similar to musterm85. The password would be the password of musterm85.

The University of Vienna operates several Moodle instances for teaching and training purposes. These can be reached at moodle.univie.ac.at or moodleschulung.univie.ac.at, among others.
You can choose the instance you want when you log in to the app. Which instance is most appropriate for you depends on your courses and which Moodle instance you login into to access them. Recommendation: moodle.univie.ac.at will probably be the appropriate choice most of the time.

Unfortunately not. The Center for Teaching and Learning decided that the app should not be usable with a u:account that is enrolled with teacher permissions into your Moodle course. The latter is because the app's primary purpose is to use the app to interact with the flashcards as a learner (student, resp.).
If you want to try out the app anyway, you could create a service-u:account and enroll it to your Moodle course with the student Moodle role.

The flashcards provided by your Moodle course and its flashcards activities are automatically available in the app.Your students need to select the flashcards they want to learn once on Moodle - which also permits them to use those flashcards in the app as well.
Be aware that the app respects your Moodle settings. For example, if you decide to hide a flashcards activity on Moodle it will also be hidden in the app.
