Katharine invited to speak at ELTE BTK Institute of Art Theory and Media Studies in Budapest

Katharine has been invited to give a lecture on ‘Governing Freedom: Challenges to media and communication rights in Europe’ at the ELTE BTK Institute of Art Theory and Media Studies, Department of Media and Communication in Budapest, Hungary.

Katharine at International Conference on ‘Free Access on Information’ in Prague

The Czech Ministry of Interior has invited Katharine to give a talk at the International Conference on ‘Free Access on Information – Right of Free Access to Information vs. Protection of Information’. The one-day conference will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, on November 27.

Katharine will be the representative for the Republic of Austria discussing the Constitutional Reform on Freedom of Information in Austria.

Nachwuchstagung Medien Denken

Katharine is invited to the Nachwuchstagung ‘Medien Denken’, set to take place on October 30-31 and organised by Mediologie @ Wien, a research community at the University of Vienna. She will present her keynote entitled “What matters? ‘doing’ media governance with ignorance”, which will be part of the panel ‘Medien der Moderne’ (Media of the modern era).

Katharine to deliver keynote at Salford International Media Festival

Katharine will be one of the keynote speakers at the Salford International Media Festival and Academic Conference ‘Challenging Media Landscapes – Exploring Media Choice and Freedom’, to be held at the University of Salford, MediaCityUK. She will talk about Public service in media landscapes and the state in Europe: changing the rules of the game?.

Symposium ‘Heimatfron_t! Frauen, Medien und Krieg’

Organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education and Women’s Affairs, the University of Vienna, the Presseclub Concordia and  the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (OIIP), the symposium ‘Heimatfron_t! Frauen, Medien und Krieg. Über Rollenbilder und Mythen vom Ersten Weltkrieg bis heute’ will take place at the Austrian Parliament on October 30, 2014.

The University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK, organizes an international conference entitled Dynamics of Virtual Work Conference: The Transformation of Labour in a Digital Global Economy from September 3-5, 2014. Katharine is invited as a plenary speaker and will talk about ‘Changing geographies of production and consumption in the global online porn industry: the impact on sex workers’.

Katharine keynote speaker at Conference on Press Freedom, Privacy and Propaganda in Athens

The Press Freedom, Privacy and Propaganda Conference on Citizenship and Digital Freedom will be held in Athens, Greece on June 2, 2014. Katharine will be participating as a keynote speaker.

The event is co-organized by the QJNT Synergy, the Press and Media Secretariat of the Hellenic State, the Kathimerini Group and the European Communication Sponsor Euronews.
