Counting Houses
CrossRef functions as a sort of digital switchboard. It holds no full text content,
but rather effects linkages through Digital Object Identifiers (DOI), which
are tagged to article metadata supplied by the participating publishers. A researcher
clicking on a link (the format of which is determined by publisher preference;
for example, a CrossRef button, or "Article" in html) will be connected
to a page on the publisher's website showing a full bibliographical citation
of the article, and, in most cases, the abstract as well. The reader can then
access the full text article through the appropriate mechanism; subscribers
will generally go straight to the text, while others will receive information
on access via subscription, document delivery, or pay-per-view.
CrossRef costs the researcher nothing!
2) NEC Research Institute, Princeton, New Jersey
mit
ResearchIndex
Indexing ACI), Reference linking, Related documents (ResearchIndex locates related
documents using citation and word based measures and displays an active and
continuously updated bibliography for each document),
Similar documents (ResearchIndex shows the percentage of matching sentences
between documents).
3) Open
Citation Project
Southampton University, Cornell University and arXiv.org
In diesem Projekt ist auch "Los Alamos Eprint Archive (LANL) mit HEP integriert.
Diese Datenbank enthält über 415.000 Artikel zum
Fachbereich "High Energy Physics".
summary) oder Zitierranglisten (topcite).
4) Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics
mit der Site
Astrophysics
Data System
The abstracts database contains data from several sources, including NASA's
Scientific and Technical Information group (STI), journal publishers SIMBAD,
NED, and OCR'd from table of contents. The primary source of abstracts is NASA's
STI, who provided abstracts from 1975 through about the middle of 1995.
We extract the "references" at the end of each content
item to obtained tagged, hyperlinked backward and forward references.
We license technical content and metadata from various content sources (for
example, IEEE, INSPEC, US Patent Office) and combine it with data (company,
researcher and product profiles) mined from the web using our information extraction
technology and our unique data integration technology to produce an integrated
data product.
