Research Focus

I investigate basic processes of visual perception, attention and memory. I am also curious how basic perceptual processes relate to the aesthetic experience of pictures such as photographs and videos.

Approach and Methods

I use psychophysics, eye tracking, and analyze the neural correlates of perception. I also run large-scale online experiments for perceptual assessments and use a variety of data processing, visualizuation and analysis tools.

Current Projects

I am a member of the EVALab of the University of Vienna, where I collaborate with research partners from the camera industry. Apart from my research, I explore the beauty of the world through photography and traveling.
