Biography
Daniel Thiele is a PhD candidate and research assistant in the project „Political and Media Populism: ‚Refugee Crisis‘ in Slovenia and Austria (POP-MED)“ (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Birgit Sauer, funded by FWF). He received his MA in political sciences from the University of Vienna and his BA from the University of Mannheim. He worked as student assistant at the University of Vienna (2013-2016) and for the German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES) at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) (2010-2012). In his PhD thesis, he analyzes right-wing populist online communication, combining a quantitative approach to content analysis with a critical epistemological interest.
