Erin Manning / Brian Massumi: Twisted Nietzsche

Erin Manning [CV], Brian Massumi [CV]

Abstract

All movements are to be taken as gestures, as a kind of language through which the forces understand each other.
Nietzsche, Late Notebooks 56 1 [28]

All movements are signs of something happening within; and all that happens within expresses itself in such alterations of form. Thinking is not itself what happens within, but likewise just a sign language for the balancing out of the affects‘ power.
Nietzsche, Late Notebooks 1 [28]

Below every thought lies an affect.
Nietzsche, Late Notebooks 1 [61]
