Three-port beam splitter for cold neutrons using holographic $\sf\small SiO_2$ nanoparticle-polymer diffraction gratings

Abstract

Diffraction of cold neutrons by nanoparticle-polymer composite gratings has been observed. By carefully choosing grating parameters such as grating thickness and SiO2 nanoparticle concentration, a three-port beam splitter distributing the incident neutron intensity equally to the ±1st and 0th diffraction orders was realized.
