I am Professor of Economics at University of Vienna and research fellow at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). I received a Ph.D. in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin. Prior to joining University of Vienna, I held positions at Goethe University Frankfurt and Johannes Kepler University Linz.
My research interests are industrial organization, competition economics, auctions, labor demand and gender differences. I have also been a consultant on empirical questions and antitrust cases to government agencies and firms.
Currently, I am working on the evaluation of merger remedies in the European Union, the impact of consumer inattention on outcomes for the US ready-to-eat cereal market and the demand for loans in Austria.
