- ABSTRACT:
-
The influence of a front contact applied along grain boundaries in
polycrystalline silicon solar cells on the charge transport across
grain boundaries was investigated by DC and AC current voltage
measurements. The measurements were done on the same samples before
and after the grain boundaries were covered by the painted silver
contact. A comparison of these measurements shows that the
resistance in the highly doped emitter region across grain
boundaries can be reduced by about 30 per cent when a metal contact
is applied on the grain boundaries.
