The Job Sharing Doodle is an Internet-based coordination tool for smartphones intended to enable a self-organized redistribution of jobs and income opportunities. The tool wants to empower people currently without job to self-organize for a kind of Basic Income while simultanously providing people with jobs who want to reduce their workloads with the opportunity for time-outs.
In other words, the objective of the Doodle is to allocate an available payroll sum with minimal administrative costs among a group of people, whose number exceeds the number of employees usually paid with this sum, so that
1) actual individual inclinations towards work are respected as good as possible,
2) social security is guaranteed to the currently not working members of the group, and
3) no additional financial means and no excessive administrative or organizational efforts are required.
On the side of employers, it could be expected that the flexibility resulting from this might benefit worker’s motivation.
