Present and past projects

In the last two years most of my research was devoted to homogenization of the global radiosonde dataset RAOBCORE. This dataset is developed further within the framework of the Project P18120-GEO, funded by the Austrian Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung.

From 2001-2005 I was engaged in writing the chapter "General Circulation of the Atmosphere" in the Landolt-Börnstein volume "Observed Global Climate" I had to describe the global atmospheric general circulation. It was evaluated having the concept of energy, moisture and momentum budgets in mind. Fields from the European Re-Analysis project ERA-40 have been used as main input data. The focus was on the years 1991-1995. The book has been published recently and can be referenced as:
