Katharine awarded Jean Monnet Chair of European Media Governance and Integration

From September 1, 2016 Katharine has been awarded the Jean Monnet Chair of European Media Governance and Integration by the European Commission. The Chair’s duration is three years (2016-2019), and aims at the generation of research and teaching, publication and outreach activities.

The highly competitive award of the Jean Monnet Chair recognises and requires long-term, substantial and highly acclaimed research and work on European Union issues. There will be a public event in January 2017 to mark the award and launch the agenda of the Chair, whereas a series of Jean Monnet lectures has already been launched.

13th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies

Katharine is invited to moderate the panel “Monitoring media and social media” at the 13th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies entitled “New technologies in elections: Public trust and challenges for electoral management bodies”.

The conference, co-organised by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, will be held at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest (Romania) from April 14-15, 2016.
