Heuristic and exact solution methods for routing, Traveling Salesman Problem, Vehicle Routing Problems, Vehicle Location Problems, Arc Routing and Postman Problems, Container Loading, Order Picking in Warehouses
Applications: Disaster Relief Operations Planning, Inventory Routing, Newspaper Delivery, Ready Mixed Concrete Delivery
Objectives: The students should be able to develop mathematical models for transportation problems and develop heuristic solution methods.
Methods: Heuristic and exact solution methods. LP-Solvers.
Grading:
4 exams, homework and class participation.
