Airport Connections

There is no direct metro connection between the city and the airport, but there are still three easy ways to get from the airport to the city by public transport:

  • Commuter rail lines  S2  and  S7  (Floridsdorf - Wien Mitte/City - Airport - Wolfsthal, operated by Federal Austrian Railways) has trains every 30 minutes from the airport to the city centre (calling at all stations). Travel time is 25 Minutes to the city centre (Wien Mitte).
    A regular single ticket costs approx. €4.

  • Federal Austrian Railways operates  InterCity  or  RailJet  trains run every 30 minutes from the airport non-stop to Vienna Hauptbahnhof, continuing from there to Linz and Salzburg. Travel time is 15 Minutes to Vienna main station.
    A regular single ticket costs approx. €4.

  • The City Airport Train  CAT  runs every 30 minutes from the airport non-stop to the city centre (Wien Mitte). Travel time is 16 Minutes.
    A regular single ticket costs €12.

  • Vienna Airport Lines  VAL  run three bus lines from the airport to the city centre, the main railway stations, and Vienna International Centre. Travel time is between 25 (Schwedenplatz) and 40 Minutes (Westbahnhof).
    A regular single ticket costs €8.
