Yesterday's newspaper contained the basis for twelve new short stories. Of course I realised this only today, more than twenty-four hours after I'd thrown it away, and I can only remember enough to base one short story on it. Have to check out the paper at the library tomorrow. It could be next year's book.

It's kind of a law: You *must* take inspiration wherever you can find it.

Now you've got me curious: you knew there was a basis for (exactly) twelve stories even though you didn't realize this until the next day. What was this, a list of weird things that happened in each month of 2006, or something like that? Do tell!

I could tell you, but it would ruin this blog's reputation as a guess blog. Besides, if I write the stories, you'll find out anyway, and I don't want to give the idea away and have someone else write it.

Reputations must be maintained, but the tragedy would be if someone were to steal your idea. I'm resigned to waiting for the book.
