My first non-pedestrian-induced bicycle accident since about 1984. A strong reminder not to apply the brakes, not even cautiously, when crossing wet tramway rails.

My left hand hurts.

Now, did you write this entry singlehandedly? Seriously, I hope nothing is broken. However, as a strict good weather rider, I am slightly spooked. You had your accident because of using the brakes while *crossing* the tram rails? How was the angle? Did you drop into that rail-slot (don't even how that is called in German...)? Getting stuck there is one of my big horrors. It has never happened to me so far, but the mere possibility makes me more than uneasy every time I get close to tram rails.

Yes, just riding across the wet rail at something like a 30° angle. Not caught in the groove. Suddenly the bike slipped away from under me. Nasty.

Nothing broken. Small scratch on the right hand, but doesn't hurt. Possible haematoma on the left hand, hurts.
