I thought it might be worth mentioning that the first posting on The Aardvark Speaks was published exactly four years ago, on Saturday 3 August 2002. How time flies.

It *is* worth mentioning. I enjoy hearing about goings on in Vienna & your musical opinions. I finally bought "The Definitive Chet Baker" on your recommendation, and really like it.

Yes, congrats on the four year anniversary. Time does fly, and it mostly only does that when you're having fun!

Hmmm... didn't I mention that I don't think the "Definitve Chet Baker" isn't very definitive? There really aren't any good compilations out there because those that do exist either focus on the Pacific Jazz years (1953-57), the Riverside years (1958-59) or the Barclay/Limelight/Emarcy years (1955-56, 1964, 1970). Considering that recorded very extensively up to his death in 1988, none of these is very representative.
