My paper from BlogTalk is now available to download:

N.B.: You may find that the PowerPoint presentation doesn't make much sense unless you hear me talk to it. It was designed to be that way.

It´s really strange that you uploaded the PowerPoint Presentation in .mov format. It´s funny to watch a presentation in the QuickTime player, but what´s the logic behind it?

Frankly, is there a logic behind blogging? To some extend there is, and I agree with blogging as news that are relevant to me first and then to the readers. But since blogging or web publishing is in general aimed at the general public out there in cyberspace, one has to ask how to attract that public. I´m not sure that can work by copy and paste. Partly it does, but copying another successful site, even with adding a few comments, doesn´t bring any success apart from a few search engine hits. In other words, how to attract readers hasnt been answered at BlogTalk and that´s something I´m still interested in the future.

The PowerPoint presentation looked totally ugly on Windows if uploaded as a .ppt file, most likely because I had used some nonstandard Mac fonts in it, and there was no way to embed those fonts. Saving it as a QuickTime movie was an admittedly unconventional workaround to preserve the layout and keep it readable.

I'm not sure whether there is any one logic behind blogging; I see more of a cluster of vaguely related concepts. Some of these concepts do not necessarily include writing for a larger audience. As in real life, the question is more about finding your purpose any trying to achieve it.

Attracting readers is only possible once you've found the niche in which you're comfortable. Your strategies will have to vary according to your niche, and, needless to say, you need content that appeals to your audience.
