"Where Is Haldur?" quiz

Hello everybody. This is Haldur Gislufsson speaking. I'm sitting in an Internet café at a yet undisclosed location. Suffice it to say that I'm enjoying the sun, the sea, and pleasant temperatures of 29°C.

I sent Horst a picture that I took recently and he promised to upload it to this link. It contains the second of a number of hints where I am.

The first three people to send in the correct answer (i.e. the name of the village where I am) will receive an autographed fan postcard of moi, which is not available anywhere in shops, so it's a true collector's item!

I'm signing off now; more hints will be coming -- back to the beach!

Great! The picture is even more of a help than the first one. Are you trying to help us or do you simply enjoy torturing us poor Central and Northern European office workers staring at the gray skies of November days showing up in early October?

Hey! Aren't moose supposed to love cold and humid weather. After all, they are accustomed to polar winter which is rather worse than what we know.

Well, you should know by now that Haldur is not your average moose... he seems to be enjoying himself wherever he is at the moment. As for the picture - I only uploaded the file that he sent me. I am as clueless as you are as to how this is supposed to be helpful. I hope Haldur reads this and gives us some more help.

Oh Dieter, do you really have so little faith in me? The picture was indeed a bona fide clue for the quiz, which will, in time, give you an idea of my whereabouts - depending on whether you can interpret it.

This is not like Horst's previous quiz; instead think of it as a puzzle. I will give you various pieces of the puzzle, and at some point you may or may not see the whole picture. So far I have given you just two pieces. You may need further pieces, and you need to combine the information from the pieces until you can actually see something.
