Most bioinformatics linkpages available on the WWW are lists of
programs and databases divided in categories. And
that is the point. It is just lists, but not descriptions. The purpose
of BIOINFORMATICS WORLD is to provide a knowledge database rather than
a linkpage. Programs and tools are categorized, described, evaluated,
and compared,
allowing the user to choose the site which fits best his/her needs.
BIOINFORMATICS WORLD is intended to help you steer through the jungle
of web-based bioinformatics sites.
There are two main sections: the Main Index
where all resources are categorized and described in table form, and
the FAQ Center, which provides
step-by-step descriptions how to
solve specific problems using bioinformatics tools and databases. The
page A-Z lists all resources in alphabetical
order. Finally, the Site Journal keeps
you informed about latest additions
and news.
