Urzeitkrebse sind lebende Fossilien und doch fast unbekannt. In außergewöhnlichen Makrobildern zeigen die beiden Naturfilmer Ilona Riehl und Günther Bludszuweit die erstaunliche Farbenpracht dieser verborgenen Pfützenbewohner. Der Film "Tod auf Zeit - Urzeitkrebse als Überlebenskünstler" wurde bereits mehrfach auf internationalen Festivals ausgezeichnet; und gewann u.a. den GRAND PRIX auf dem Festival Image & Science 1998 in Paris und eine Silbermedaille auf dem New York Festival 1999.

Warum konnten die Urzeitkrebse so lange Zeit unverändert bleiben - in einer Welt, die sich ständig wandelt? Drei Jahre lang reiste das Filmteam durch halb Europa und nach Übersee. Gedreht wurde in den österreichischen Marchauen, in Kroatien und in der ungarischen Puszta, am Großen Salzsee in Utah und in der Camargue, sowie in Labors in Ulm, Wien, Gent und Davis/Kalifornien.

"Primeval shrimps" are living fossils, but almost unknown to the public. In this movie by Ilona Riehl and Günther Bludszuweit, the amazing colours and the secret life of these strange creatures are shown in fantastic macro shots. The movie "We die to live" was awarded at several international festivals, among them the GRAND PRIX at the Paris Festival "Image & Science" in 1998 and the silver medal at the New York Festival in 1999.

In a world that is changing all the time - how could the large branchiopods survive almost unchanged for such a long time? The film team from Munich travelled throughout Europe and North America for three years to answer this and other questions. The Morava river flood plains in Austria were visited as well as Croatia, the Hungarian Puszta, the French Camargue and the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Scientists in Ulm, Vienna, Gent, and Davis/CA were interviewed.

Dos cineastas de la naturaleza, Ilona Riehl y Günther Bludszuweit, muestran, en excepcionales ampliaciones , la sorprendente riqueza de colorido de estos ocultos habitantes de charcas. La película "Muerte reversible - crustáceos antediluvianos expertos en sobrevivir" ha sido galardonada varias veces en Festivales internacionales: ha ganado, entre otros, el GRAND PRIX de 1998 en el Festival Image & Sciencie de París y una medalla de plata en el Festival de Nueva York en 1999.

¿Cómo pudieron estos crustáceos antediluvianos continuar inmutables en un mundo que está cambiando constantemente? Durante 3 años viajó el grupo cineasta a través de media Europa y a Ultramar. Rodaron en la vega del rio Morava, en Croacia y en la planicie húngara, en el gran Lago Salado de Utah y en la Camargue, así como en laboratorios de Ulm, Viena, Gante y Davis/California.
