Tudo bem? On Monday I arrived at the Escola Politécnica de Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil. I will be here for 3 months as a Visiting Teacher and Researcher . Since this weekend is Páscoa (Easter) I already had time to visit the famous Porto de Galinhas (Chicken Port) where just EVERYTHING is about galinhas.

Today we submitted a paper to the Ubicomp conference - the top conference on Ubiquitous Computing.

Today we submitted our WWTF proposal entitled "EN-ID: Epidemics and Nature-Inspired Algorithms for Distributed Data Mining"

As of today I am the newest member of the Roadcell Project. The goal of this inter-university project is to estimate road traffic conditions from cellular network signaling. (Click here for more information)

Finally! I am back at the Facutly of Computer Science at the University of Vienna.

I am currently at the ICNC FSDK 2011 conference in Shanghai, China.

On Wednesday I received the overall Best Paper Award at the very competitive 2011 ICSI (International Conference on Swarm Intelligence) in Chongqing, China. The award was presented by Prof. Russel Eberhart. ICSI 2011 home page

Today I got baptised :) From now on I am called 杨赛安 (Yáng sài ān)!

Nǐ hǎo. Last week I arrived in China to work as a Senior Visiting Student at the Peking University in Běijīng.
I will do some research under the supervison of Prof. Ying Tan at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at the Peking University.

Today I will give a talk about our libNMF Library at the IRMM Workhop at the International Conference on Supercomputing in Běijīng.

Today (05/02/2010) I successfully passed my dissertation defense with distinction. Thanks to everybody for helping me finishing this work! Thanks to all proofreaders and motivating hobby-psychologists.

Yoo-Hoo!!! Today I finished my PhD thesis!
