• full-time lecturer at the department of English and American Studies of the University of Vienna, Austria

• recipient of the Figdor-prize of the Austrian Academy of Sciences for literary studies (2005)

• research interests:

teaching literature, culture, and languages, New English and postcolonial literatures, contemporary British literature, children's and young adults' literature, postcolonial theories, British Studies, interdisciplinary approaches to literature, linguistics and literature, reception theories, translation theories, cognitive approaches to literature, time travel
