CONFERENCE
|
final
program:
international workshop “phylogenic memory”, Vienna 21. – 24. September
2006
organized
by Martin Potschka
in
the seminar room of the: Institut für Wissenschaft und Kunst Berggasse
17/1 A-1090 Wien Österreich
Thursday
21. Sept. 2006 from 18:00 to 21:00
Friday
22. Sept. 2006 from 17:00 to 21:00
Saturday
23. Sept. 2006 from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00
Sunday
24. Sept. 2006 from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30
Please
note that the session hours differ every day!
Not
all information that is preserved from generation to generation can be
reduced to genetics. This conference focuses on one particular other type
of memory which is mental and not object based; I propose to call it
second phylogenic memory. One of the fundamental principles that makes
this new paradigm work is telepathy. We therefore ask in the Saturday
morning session: what is the evidence for telepathy and can it be reduced
to known physical processes? In the Sunday morning session we then ask: do
we deal with a material or an immaterial phenomenon? Incidences to which
the new paradigm contributes will be discussed in the remaining sessions:
biology and psychotherapy on Friday evening, social and political science
as well as cultural studies on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon,
the evolution of information on Thursday evening. We will also discuss
what semiotics can contribute to elaborate this second phylogenic memory.
This is by no way an exhaustive list of subjects that are relevant, and it
is planned to continue the discussion in the future. It is a principle aim
of the workshop to start collect available evidence on the subject across
the disciples and to find language to communicate the issues. The workshop
starts with a general introduction of the subject on Thursday evening.
